Polysorbate 20, 60, 80
in the wee hours of March 4th, 2007This group of chemicals are routinely used as emulsifiers and stabilisers in cosmetic applications. I have also read that polysorbate 60 and 80 are used in food preparations as an emulsifier and dispersing agent.
They have been cited as skin and eye irritants, of enhancing the activity of known carcinogens and may be carcinogens themselves.
