Am I Wales’ answer to Lush?
late at night of June 27th, 2007So I have been told. To be perfectly honest, I don’t feel comfortable with the association. This is where most people I know would try to knock some sense into me.The only similarities of real note is that we both hand make our creations, ensuring products are as fresh as possible and that we both use a high degree of natural ingredients. The division between Elixir Body Care and Lush becomes more apparent on further investigation. Elixir Body Care has and always will be against harmful ingredients, synthetic or otherwise.
Lush is open to using ingredients from the SLS family and Propylene Glycol and these are used prolifically in their soaps. I’m bemused why anyone would want the addition of these ingredients in a bar of soap when it’s entirely unnecessary. [View Latest Nasty for the low-down]
If you want a bar of soap that will deodorise your bathroom and imitate a perfume, then Lush is definitely for you or so their readers say. Personally I don’t agree with using such vast amounts of fragrance, even if it is natural. It reminds me of the adage ‘Less is more’.
Here at Elixir Body Care, we just make natural soap and toiletries, the old-fashioned way, brimming with nothing but goodness and luxury.
I’m happy to stand apart from the crowd and if I ever do get the urge to make a product that leaves a strong lingering fragrance on your body all day long, I’ll let you know. I think I’ll call it Perfume.
