Elixir’s Natural Body Care - Your Blueprint To Beauty

Combat Cold Sores

in the wee hours of August 17th, 2007

Cold sores occur just above, below or on the lips and are a member of the Herpes family.

They are usually caught by kissing someone who has one or the virus can be activated by being run down.  You can usually tell the signs when you’ve been unlucky enough to have acquired one, by the tingling sensation on your lips or skin, followed closely by the painful spot appearing.

There are some very effective cold sore creams on the market, but if you’d like to treat them with natural solutions, I have one here for you to try, that is far more cost effective and can be put to a multitude of other uses.

[Pelargonium Odorantissimum]
Geraniums originated in Africa.  They were introduced into Europe towards the end of the seventeenth century and can be found growing wild on the edge of forests and on wasteland.  The main constituents of geranium oil are geraniol, citronellol, linalol, terpineol and alcohol.

The common garden geraniums that we see everywhere today, were cultivated back in the eighteenth century by crossing different varieties of pelargonia.

Treatment
Use one drop, neat [undiluted], onto a cotton bud and apply to affected area as soon as the tingling sensation starts and repeat procedure two more times throughout the day.

A word of warning, it has a rather bitter taste, so try to avoid licking your lips.

Eat a healthy, whole food diet loaded with plenty of vitamins, iron and zinc and give junk food a wide berth.

If you’re interested in improving your health, I will be posting an interesting topic on Food Combining very soon.
