A very popular citrus fruit strengthens nails

Lemon [Citrus Medica Limonum] was imported from Medie in Asia, where it was used to perfume clothing. Nowadays of course, lemon trees thrive in a variety of sunny, sub tropical climates. It takes more than 3000 lemons to produce a kilo of essence and the pulp which is left over is used to make citric acid.
The essence of the lemon is stimulating, refreshing and uplifting and a powerful antibacterial agent. Its excellent diluted with water and used as a gargle for thrush and sore throats, it is also helpful to clean wounds and staunch bleeding.
Sufferers of brittle nails and weak nails that repeatedly split, crack and break will find this little recipe very useful. To strengthen weak and brittle nails, make up the following solution and soak your nails for 15 minutes each night.
Pour enough extra virgin olive oil into a bowl so that your nails will be immersed. Heat the oil gently in the microwave and then add 10% Lemon Essential Oil.
After your soak, spend a few minutes massaging the nail and around the cuticle. Your nails will benefit from this stimulation. Wash your hands and pat dry.
